JAMIE KIRKELL:
ORIGINAL SILK SCARF PAINTINGS
OPENING WEEKEND OCTOBER 20-21-22
Jamie Kirkell’s life as a silk painter can be traced to the 1960s around his time as a Peace Corp volunteer in the Philippines and Java, where he developed a strong interest in orchids. At this same time, apprenticing under Indonesia Batik Master, Bambang Oetoro, set Kirkell on a path as a silk painter with an emphasis on flower designs, geometric patterns, and vibrant colors.
